Neurodevelopmental waiting list support

Support for parents, carers, children and young people who are waiting for an assessment for autism or ADHD.

What we do

Our Open Minds (CAMHS) service provides brief telephone support and signposting for parents, carers, and educators of children and young people who are waiting for a neurodevelopmental assessment.

We’re currently experiencing high volumes of referrals requesting assessments for autism and ADHD. If you have made a request for assessment and have not heard back yet, please be assured that we will contact you in due course.

SilverCloud online support

SilverCloud provides a digital platform for parents, carers, and young people, without needing an autism or ADHD diagnosis to access the programmes.

Parents and carers can sign up to a digital platform designed to help families better understand and manage difficulties, such as anxiety, low mood and ADHD traits. Young people who have been diagnosed with ADHD, or display some of the symptoms, can access the ‘Living Well with ADHD’ programme.

You can find out more about the offer here.

Mental health support

The Open Minds (CAMHS) partnership is able to support children and young people with mental health difficulties while they are on the waiting list for a neurodevelopmental assessment. This support can be requested by submitting a new referral.

Additional support

We have a downloadable leaflet with information on available support, including local parent and carer support groups, quality online resources and universal services.

Calderdale Council also have helpful information and resources.
