Mental health and wellbeing services for children and young people in Calderdale

What we do

We’re a BACP-accredited service which is part of a local mental health partnership, where organisations work together to provide signposting, advice and mental health input for children and young people and their families.

We offer:

  • The First Point of Contact, a single point of access for parents/carers, young people and professionals
  • A route to neurodevelopmental assessment for autism and ADHD
  • Therapeutic and wellbeing practitioners
  • SilverCloud digital guided self-help programmes
  • Mental health training and consultation for schools and other professionals

Who for

Children and young people aged 5-18 in Calderdale, experiencing persistent and significant emotional or mental health problems such as:

  • Deterioration in self-care
  • Non-school attendance as a result of mental health presentation
  • Deterioration in academic attainment related to mental health presentation
  • Social withdrawal (such as lack of contact with friends)

And for referral for neurodevelopmental assessment, children and young people:

  • from age 0 for autism
  • from age 6 for ADHD

We also provide support for parents, carers, and young people, who are on the neurodevelopmental waiting list.
